Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about appointments and services
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your ID, insurance card, a list of current medications, and any previous eyeglasses or contact lens prescriptions. If you have medical records from previous eye care providers, those would be helpful as well.
How long does an eye exam take?
A comprehensive eye exam typically takes about 60-90 minutes. This includes all testing, the examination by the doctor, and discussion of your results and recommendations.
How often should I have an eye exam?
For adults with no vision issues or risk factors, an eye exam every 1-2 years is recommended. Those with existing vision problems or risk factors may need more frequent exams. Children should have their first eye exam at 6 months, again at 3 years, and before starting school.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we accept most major insurance plans. Please contact our office to verify if we accept your specific insurance plan. We also offer various payment options for services not covered by insurance.
